Let’s Walk with WeatherBeeta and the RSPCA!
WeatherBeeta is excited to announce our partnership with the RSPCA for the 2008 Million Paws Walk.
The Million Paws Walk is held annually in May at 60 locations throughout Australia. The Day is an important fund raiser to assist the RSPCA in its shelter operations, Inspectorate services and community education about animal welfare. All funds made from entry fees and the sale of merchandise are donated to these operations.
We are happy to announce our addition to the Million Paws Walk merchandise – the Million Paws Walk Dog Rug! This official RSPCA dog rug features a stronger and longer lasting, breathable and water resistant outer shell with lightweight lining. The rug also features touch tape front and belly closures for a secure fit while walking and is machine washable for easy care. What’s best is the rug is completely reusable – which means you can show your support for the RSPCA on every walk, every day!

Weatherbeeta – working with the RSPCA to aid animals in need
The RSPCA is desperate for Land!
In the past 12 months, the RSPCA has seen the number of horse cruelty cases increase by 72.6%, with 340 horses reported in March 2007 alone – that's almost 11 horses reported every day.
The RSPCA has seized a number of neglected, starving and malnourished horses this year, with RSPCA inspectorates having the unfortunate job of euthanizing many others which were too weak or too sick to save. With 35 horses finding a safe and happy sanctuary at the RSPCA's Peninsula Shelter, room for only a few more exists. The lack of land available for the further seizure of neglected horses is certainly unsettling the RSPCA. Help the RSPCA find more land! If you have vacant land that you are happy to donate to a seized animal, please contact the RSPCA on (03) 9224 2222 or email marketing@rspca.org.au . The animal will remain in the care of the RSPCA, and all costs will be covered. These horses just need somewhere happy to stay until they are signed over to the RSPCA and are ready to re-home (if this is an option).
Feed, feed and more feed…. Help feed the hungry RSPCA horses!
The RSPCA currently have over 45 horses in their care – that's a lot of mouths to feed. While many horse owners are struggling with the continual rising costs of feed, the RSPCA are in over their heads with feed costs! Feed is a major cost to the RSPCA, as the majority of horses seized or handed over to the RSPCA are malnourished. Feed therefore makes up a large proportion of their rehabilitation process and paves their road to health. If you would like to donate feed to the RSPCA, please call (03) 9224 2222, or email marketing@rspca.org.au . Every donation counts!
