Hello WeatherBeeta team,
My name is Kristy and I bought a Taka rug for my horse Kunishi off the girls at Horseland Mt Gambier early April of this year. the girls were great - really well informed on the rug and super helpful with all of my questions.
This rug is all you have stated and more. I have never been more pleased with the quality and workmanship of any other rug. Impressed by all of the great qualities (clip up front!!) - above all I was most impressed by the "wickaway" properties, this rug is the only rug I have on my horse besides a cotton under rug and it is all she needs. Be it 4deg and heavy frost or afternoon sun and close to 14deg she stays warm and dry . Wickaway properties are extremely important to me as my horse likes to "train" herself if you may by galloping all over her 15 acre paddock, and I have always had to under rug her during the day because of this. Now I have one brilliant rug in winter; morning, noon or night and she is never cold, or sweaty.
The tapered seams and reflective binding is another genius idea by weatherbeeta as I have recently moved house to a stable-less, non lit residence and had to catch her at 4am the other morning to go to a competition - lucky for me the torch picked up the reflective tape and it only took me a minute to have her haltered and on our way.
Best regards and thank you for such a wonderful product.

To The Manager,
I wanted to tell you about this great little 4'6” rug I bought so many years ago. Back on the 17/1/92, my filly gem was born. I bred her for showing. At 6 months, I weaned her and began showing her. I needed a good, safe rug – one that would not rip or roll on her. That's when I bought this little pink and black Weatherbeeta rug. It has cross over belly surcingles and 2 chest straps, and it only cost $50 at that time. That was July 1992. July this year, the rug will be 15 years old and I still use it today. Apart from a couple of rips and stains, it really has passed the test of time. It still keeps the pony dry in the rain and warm in the winter. I lost that filly gem to colic, but I still have her rug. I congratulate you on making such a quality rug. There are many rugs being made now days, but will they still be being used in 15 years time like my little pink and black Weatherbeeta?
Keep up the great work.
Yours Sincerely,
Robyn Moroney
I wanted to write a thank you note to Weatherbeeta for doing something exceptional.
Last year I ordered from you 2 blue/trim light blue Weatherbeeta waterproof light weight blankets.
I had only used them 2 times, when I put them on my yearlings again yesterday because of heavy rain, and dropping temps here in Kentucky . One of my quarter horses evidentally chased one of the yearlings (for no known reason) and she jumped a barbed wire fence protecting trees in a neighbors lot. I was in a board meeting when my neighbor called and said "Genie, you've got to come home now, your little gray pony has been running through and over my barbed wire protection fence by my trees. She was chased by one of your quarter horses.” He allowed as how she had to be totally ripped apart because he ran her 3 times through the barbed wire. I left my board meeting in Lexington, raced back to the farm in Georgetown, went in the pitch dark to get both yearlings, in the pouring rain, and brought them inside the barn to see the damage, and were it not for the Weatherbeeta blanket on her, with the strong outside protection, inside padding, she would have been ripped from one whole side. It ripped the blanket on one side totally up, and she had 2 bad hematomas on her neck, but the neighbor said the horse was biting her all over her back, but, again, because of her blanket, they didn't go through, only the marks on her neck which was uncovered.
If I had any nylon type different quality outer fabric, it would have gone right through, and ripped her to pieces. Even with the outside torn, there was only 1 spot in the black lining that had a hole in it. These blankets are STRONG. My Vet wanted to know what brand they were because he couldn't believe she was not injured worse than she was.
Weatherbeeta saved me from either a total disaster, or a death by bleeding to death I believe. And believe it or not, the whole lining is still in place.
Best Regards,
Genie Akin
